SVO Autocross videos

Videos from yesterday. The course was very fast in both directions, which scared me a bit. My Ecoboost Mustang is way faster than my Sonic was, and in many places I slowed down because I got nervous. It’s also a bit shocking to get out to an autocross course in it: on the street I really don’t beat on the car as it has more than enough power with light throttle to get its fat ass around. Then I get out to autox, put it in ‘Track’ mode, and get into the meat of the power band and find myself surprised by the power. Also I still am not entirely used to the size so I kept hitting cones on the far side.

All that will get fixed with time. I’ve now done about 25 runs with the Eco-stang over the past 2.5 months I’ve owned an Ecoboost Mustang.

PS: I’m only calling it an SVO because it pisses some people off, and I find that funny.

Yeah, kinda. ‘Scared’ isn’t really the right term, more ‘holy shit this is fast’ panic braked. There were parts of the course where I was out of gear at the top of second. It was really fast.

On the OG SVO the scoop was off center because the intercooler was under it off to the side of the engine. The 2015 SVO has an FMIC, so a scoop wouldn’t make a lot of sense.

Basically, a custom hood would be just as real as a stick on intake.

That is fast- most courses I don’t get past second. Last time I took the vette, I was using third on the back straight- I get worried there too. Very fast for a parking lot.

Although, third gear was where I gained stupid time on the course, made it really overpowered to have the vette that day.

The EcoBoost actually makes cooler noises than I expected. I see tons of them around, but I haven’t heard anybody really get on it hard on public roads.

My blowoff is because I have an adapter to make it vent to atmosphere. Other than a panel filter everything else is stock.
